Space Travel

The Future Of Space Travel

Space travel can be referred to as travelling the space. The equipment that is used for space travel is known as the space flight. Spaceflight can occur with spacecraft which may or may not be manned flight. Examples of some spaceflight in which include people who traveled to space are Russian Soyuz, the U.S. Space shuttle program and also the ongoing project international space station in which NASA plays the major role. Examples of some unmanned spaceflight include space probes. Space travel includes Spaceflight which is commonly used in space exploration, and also commercial activities like space tourism and satellite telecommunications. It also used for non-commercial uses such as space observations and earth observation satellites.

Spaceflight can also include interplanetary travel   and interstellar travel. Interplanetary travel or interplanetary spaceflight is the travel between planets within a single planetary system. The current interplanetary travel remotely guided space probes which have flown to all the planets of the solar system. The types of space flights are human space flight, Sub-orbital space flight, orbital space flight, interplanetary space flight, interstellar space flight and intergalactic spaceflight. Spacecraft launch systems consists of spacecraft propulsion, expendable launch systems and reusable launch systems. The challenges that are associated with space flight are space disasters, weightlessness, radiation, life support, space whether and environmental considerations.

The four spacecraft’s Pioneer 10, Pioneer 11, Voyager 1 and 2 are ready to leave the system .Space probes have also been inserted into orbits around the planets such as Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The American program for space travel named “Vision for space exploration” was introduced by former American president George W.Bush. It had a long term goal to eventually send astronauts to mars .However on February 1, 2010, President Barack Obama proposed cancelling the program.

Interstellar space travel is either manned or unmanned travel or move between the stars in the planetary system. In space travel Interstellar space travel is more complicated than interplanetary travel . NASA has been engaging researches on these topics about space travel for several years now and accumulated a number of theoretical papers. In space travel interstellar travel seems to be possible if sufficient travel time and engineering functions are performed in both forms that are manned and unmanned. The difficulties in interstellar travel are interstellar distances, round-trip delay time, prime targets for interstellar travel and the manned missions. In interstellar travel two different methods are proposed. They are nuclear rocket concepts and non-rocket concepts. The first method consists of fission powered rockets, fusion rockets, nuclear pulse propulsion and animated rockets. The second method non-rocket concept deals with interstellar ramjets and beamed propulsion.

The advancements in rocket sciences have made frequent space travels possible between Earth and other planets. Scientists are now developing international space station for the future requirement of this kind of some intermediate junction that would serve as boarding point to future space travel. This has been made possible because of less agility materials that can withstand high pressure on outer surface.
